Tilt your head back to face the ceiling. From that position, push your lower jaw forward and upward as far as comfortable. This combines a head-back stretch with the jaw-jut action for a deeper front-of-neck contraction. Hold for 5 seconds.

Place a small rubber ball (tennis ball, stress ball, or similar) under your chin. Press your chin firmly down into the ball, hold for 3 seconds, then release. The ball provides resistance against the submental muscles without requiring equipment you might not have — you can also mimic the resistance with a rolled-up hand towel.

Tilt your head back slightly. Open your mouth wide and pull the corners of your mouth back and down — an exaggerated "E" shape — so you can feel the platysma cords along the sides of your neck stand out.
