At RB Media AB, your privacy is the foundation of the product — not an afterthought. Symmetry IQ analyzes your face to score facial symmetry and suggest routines, and we built it so that this analysis happens entirely on your device.
This policy explains what we collect, how it's used, the third-party services we rely on, and the control you have over your information.
The short version
- Your face scans and photos are processed on your device and are never uploaded to our servers, sold, or shared.
- We do not perform facial recognition or use your face to identify you.
- We collect only the minimum account, purchase, and diagnostic data needed to run the app.
- You can delete your data and account at any time.
Facial data and on-device processing
Symmetry IQ uses Google MediaPipe to detect facial landmarks and measure symmetry. This processing runs locally on your device. Your camera images and the facial measurements derived from them are stored on your device and are not transmitted to RB Media AB or any third party.
We do not use facial data for identity recognition, advertising, or model training, and we never sell it. If you choose to delete a scan, the associated images and measurements are removed from your device.
Information we collect
To provide the service, we collect:
- Account information — your name and email address, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk) when you create an account or sign in with Apple or Google.
- Onboarding answers — details like age range and goals that you provide to personalize your experience.
- Purchase information — subscription status and transaction identifiers, processed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. We never receive or store your full payment-card details.
- Diagnostic data — crash reports and basic device/app information collected by Sentry to keep the app stable.
- Notification tokens — if you enable notifications, a push token so we can send reminders.
Your face scans, images, and symmetry scores are not in this list because they stay on your device.
Third-party services we use
We rely on a small number of trusted providers. Each processes only the limited data needed for its function, under its own privacy policy:
- Google MediaPipe — on-device facial landmark detection. Runs locally; no data is sent to Google by this feature.
- Clerk — account creation, authentication, and session management (name, email, sign-in identifiers).
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management (anonymous app user ID, subscription status).
- Apple & Google — Sign in with Apple/Google and in-app purchase processing.
- Sentry — crash and error reporting (diagnostic and device data).
- Expo / push services — delivery of notifications you opt into.
How we use your information
We use the limited data we collect to:
- Create and secure your account and process sign-in.
- Provide and personalize the app experience and routines.
- Process subscriptions and restore purchases.
- Diagnose crashes and improve reliability and performance.
- Send reminders and updates you've opted into.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell personal data.
Camera and photo permissions
Symmetry IQ requests camera access (and, optionally, photo access) solely to capture or select an image for on-device facial analysis. These images are used only for that purpose and are not uploaded. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.
How we protect your information
Sensitive analysis happens on-device, and account and purchase data handled by our providers is encrypted in transit and protected using industry-standard safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.
Data retention
On-device data (scans, images, scores) is retained until you delete it or remove the app. Account and subscription records are retained while your account is active and for a limited period afterward, except where we are legally required to keep certain records (for example, tax and transaction records).
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data associated with your account.
- Correct or update your account information.
- Delete your scans, account, and associated personal data.
- Opt out of notifications and non-essential communications.

International users
Our service providers (such as Clerk, RevenueCat, and Sentry) may process limited account, purchase, or diagnostic data on servers located in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. Your on-device facial data is not transferred.
Children's privacy
Symmetry IQ is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Not a medical service
Symmetry IQ is a wellness and self-improvement tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Symmetry scores and routines are for informational purposes only.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the revised version here and update the date above, and we'll communicate significant changes in-app.
